The Nautical Mile Merchants
Association, representing a dynamic business and service community,
continually strives to achieve three basic and common goals:
- Promote its members and their businesses year-round through
various marketing endeavors and special events.
- Enhance the community of St. Clair Shores through NMMA sponsored
family activities, aesthetic improvements to the Nautical Mile
and increased awareness of the area’s many unique benefits.
- Consistently support local charities and non-profit organizations
by providing opportunities for, and participating in, appropriate
fundraising efforts.
By pursuing and achieving these goals, the Nautical Mile Merchants
Association strives to make a positive and lasting difference
for its valued members and the community it serves.

A visit to the Nautical Mile on Lake St. Clair offers year-round
fun for the entire family! Located in St. Clair Shores on Jefferson,
between 9 and 10 1/2 Mile Roads, the Nautical Mile boasts the largest
concentration of boats in the Midwest!
A place for all seasons, the Nautical Mile offers attractions, entertainment,
dining, shopping, sports, recreation and special events throughout
the year! By land, the Nautical Mile is close to I-94, I-75 and
I-696; by water you can reach the Nautical Mile from anywhere on
the Great Lakes! One of the most unique destinations in Michigan!
Perfectly situated on spectacular Lake St. Clair, the Nautical
Mile is truly paradise. Watch the beautiful sunrise from the shoreline,
take a leisurely stroll in Wahby Park, or spend the day exploring
the shops.
On water and on land, recreational adventure abounds. Boating,
sailing, skiing, racing, fishing, jetskiing and swimming are only
a few of the many summer activities. You can catch some rays, picnic
in the park or just sit and watch freighters from all over the world
go by. Fishing piers and boat launch sites make the Lake St. Clair
waterways very accessible.
And the activity doesn't stop in the winter...the frozen lake is
host to ice fishermen, ice boat racers, snowmobilers and countless
other winter sports. The Nautical Mile is an ideal destination any
time of the year! |
